Linen backing is the industry standard of conservation. Canvas is stretchered and a sheet of acid free barrier paper is laid down. The poster is then pasted to the acid free paper using an acid free paste. This process is fully reversible and gives support to the poster. A border of linen is left around the poster and can be used by a framer to mount the poster so that nothing touches the poster itself.

Hungarian-born Hamori left the country of his birth in 1949 and ultimately settled in Israel. It was there that he rose to prominence as a stamp designer, creating many of the young country's earliest stamps. In 1956 he moved to Australia and quickly found work with Qantas, for whom he designed publicity materials including booklets, menu covers, brochures and annual reports. Hamori also produced designs and logos for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Reserve Bank of Australia, Esso and other major corporations.
