The Fun Couple (a new comedy by Neil Jansen and John Haase, adapted from the novel by John Haase)
Starring Jane Fonda and Bradford Dillman, with David Hurst, Dyan Cannon, Ivor Francis, and Ben Piazza; Directed by Andreas Voutsinas
Ford's Theatre Baltimore (Mats. Wed. & Sat.)
Gill Stanford (played by Bradford Dillman) and Tish Stanford (played by Jane Fonda), are a young, unconventional, and highly imaginative newlywed couple who combat the creeping boredom, routine, and materialist trappings of typical suburban life, by intentionally constructing their own reality. The action shifts between the chaotic vacation atmosphere of Tia Juana (Tijuana), Mexico, and their ultimate home in West Covina, California.
This play was only Jane Fonda's third Broadway appearance.
