Save The Rain Each Raindrop is a Kiss From Heaven Environmental Poster

  • 1983
  • Friedensreich Hundertwasser (1928-2000)
  • 28 1/2 x 33 1/2 inches ~ (71 x 83 cm)
    $515
  • Unbacked

This poster is currently unbacked. At check out, you will be given the opportunity to add backing which would cost $145 and take approximately 6-8 weeks.

Linen backing is the industry standard of conservation. Canvas is stretchered and a sheet of acid free barrier paper is laid down. The poster is then pasted to the acid free paper using an acid free paste. This process is fully reversible and gives support to the poster. A border of linen is left around the poster and can be used by a framer to mount the poster so that nothing touches the poster itself. Backing is what we recommend for framing, and for any poster needing restoration.

  • From Hundertwasser.com:

Hundertwasser designed and donated the poster to the Norges Naturvernforbund (Norwegian Nature Conservancy Association) on the occasion of the campaign "Acid precipitation - effects on forests and fish" in cooperation with the Norwegian Ministry for the Environment. The poster was presented on Norwegian TV on October 13, 1983. The press conference on October 17 was accompanied by planting trees in front of the fortress Akershus in the centre of Oslo. The Norwegian Minister for the Environment, Rakel Surlien, the head of the Norwegian Conservancy Association, Prof. Ragnhild Sundby, and Hundertwasser each planted a tree. The aim was to draw the public's attention to the dangerous effects of acid rain on nature. For the poster Hundertwasser received the "Ekoplagát 84" prize.
