This poster is currently unbacked. At check out, you will be given the opportunity to add backing which would cost $325 and take approximately 6-8 weeks.
Linen backing is the industry standard of conservation. Canvas is stretchered and a sheet of acid free barrier paper is laid down. The poster is then pasted to the acid free paper using an acid free paste. This process is fully reversible and gives support to the poster. A border of linen is left around the poster and can be used by a framer to mount the poster so that nothing touches the poster itself. Backing is what we recommend for framing, and for any poster needing restoration.
The Devil Bat, the 1940 Jean Yarbrough science fiction (sci-fi) fantasy crime mystery horror thriller (based on a story by George Bricker; about a mad scientist who wants revenge on his former employers who he feels cheated him, and he trains his own breed of electrically enlarged bats to hate a specific perfume, and then he gets the female members of his former employers' families to wear it, after which they are brutally killed by the bats)
Starring Bela Lugosi, Suzanne Kaaren, Dave O'Brien (Dave 'Tex' O'Brien), Guy Usher, Yolande Donlan, and Donald Kerr. Note that "Poverty Row" studio PDC (Producers Distributing Corporation) went bankrupt at the end of the 1930s, and was reorganized as PRC (Producers Releasing Corporation), and this movie was their very first, and it was also their biggest hit! They made a "sequel" in name only called "Devil Bat's Daughter", but it did not match the success of this movie, and in fact, they had few other successes.
Folded as original.
