Linen backing is the industry standard of conservation. Canvas is stretchered and a sheet of acid free barrier paper is laid down. The poster is then pasted to the acid free paper using an acid free paste. This process is fully reversible and gives support to the poster. A border of linen is left around the poster and can be used by a framer to mount the poster so that nothing touches the poster itself. Backing is what we recommend for framing, and for any poster needing restoration.

Starring Betty Hutton (in the title role as Annie Oakley), Howard Keel (as Frank Butler), Louis Calhern (as Buffalo Bill Cody), J. Carrol Naish (as Chief Sitting Bull), Edward Arnold, and Keenan Wynn. Note that Judy Garland was originally cast in the title role of Annie Oakley, but she was fired after a month of filming due to showing up late or not at all, and for conflicts with Busby Berkeley. Berkeley was the original director who was replaced by Charles Walters who was replaced by George Sidney.
