  • Unbacked

This poster is currently unbacked. At check out, you will be given the opportunity to add backing which would cost $750 and take approximately 6-8 weeks.

Linen backing is the industry standard of conservation. Canvas is stretchered and a sheet of acid free barrier paper is laid down. The poster is then pasted to the acid free paper using an acid free paste. This process is fully reversible and gives support to the poster. A border of linen is left around the poster and can be used by a framer to mount the poster so that nothing touches the poster itself. Backing is what we recommend for framing, and for any poster needing restoration.

  • This is a complete original set of individual color posters of John, Paul, George and Ringo. Very rare. Does NOT include b&w group poster.

These original 1967 Beatle's posters come from the Look shoot by photographer Richard Avedon. In 1967, at the apex of the "Flower Power" era, Look Magazine commissioned famed photographer Richard Avedon to do a set of individual portraits of the members of the most popular rock and roll group of the day - the Beatles. After appearing in the magazine, Look offered the photos as a set of four prints. These original 1967 posters, in all their "far-out" colors, can truly be called psychedelic. John Lennon's kaleidoscope eyes, George Harrison as a mystical guru, Paul McCartney with his flowers, and Ringo Starr with the dove of peace, perfectly capture that fleeting moment in history.

Please note this set is in B condition, there are pinholes and small losses in the corners. Water stains to the top left of Paul. Still incredibly rare set. The price takes this condition into account, we also have a set in A condition available for almost twice the price.
