One of a series of posters using a playful pun, putting the "cat" in "Catskills." Milton Glaser is one of the preeminent contemporary American graphic designers. In 1954, he and fellow designer Seymour Chwast founded the influential Push Pin Studio, where he served as president until 1974, when he opened his own studio. Glaser co-founded New York Magazine in 1968, designed typography, restaurants and supermarket installations. He was co-chairman of the Aspen Design Conference and also taught for a year at the School of Visual Arts in New York. He also designed the universally recognized and iconic "I love New York" logo, with a red heart instead of the word love. This poster is imbued with Glaser's inimitable good humor, fanciful designs and layout.
