Linen backing is the industry standard of conservation. Canvas is stretchered and a sheet of acid free barrier paper is laid down. The poster is then pasted to the acid free paper using an acid free paste. This process is fully reversible and gives support to the poster. A border of linen is left around the poster and can be used by a framer to mount the poster so that nothing touches the poster itself.
The price of this poster includes linen backing.
GREAT Art Deco design by Eugene Beaudoin (1898-1983) and Marcel Lods (1891-1978) for the 1937 World's Fair in Paris with the theme of Art and Technology in Modern Life. Three planes spell Paris over the city skyline against a background of the colours of the French tri-colour flag with the Eiffel Tower in the distance. Beaudoin and Lods created this winning poster for a competition held by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
