    $145
  • Unbacked

This poster is currently unbacked. At check out, you will be given the opportunity to add backing which would cost $195 and take approximately 6-8 weeks.

Linen backing is the industry standard of conservation. Canvas is stretchered and a sheet of acid free barrier paper is laid down. The poster is then pasted to the acid free paper using an acid free paste. This process is fully reversible and gives support to the poster. A border of linen is left around the poster and can be used by a framer to mount the poster so that nothing touches the poster itself. Backing is what we recommend for framing, and for any poster needing restoration.

  • Astory of human struggle for eternal happiness. Teta Linek, a cook for a noble Austrian family Argan, thinks primarily of ways to achieve heavens in the afterlife. In the hope of merciful acts, she helps her nephew, Mojmir, become a priest and sends him  money for years. However, she does see him for years  only to find out Mojmir is not a priest, but lives in Prague, and spends the money on something entirely different.

Teta blames herself for naiveness and selfishness in heading for her personal happiness. In her despair, she travels to Rome where she hopes to get a redeeming blessing from the Pope. To her relief, the whole group takes part in the audience at Pius XII. Soon after, Teta falls ill and having been rewarded by the Holy Father, she dies full of hope to get a beautiful place in heaven.

Directed by Ernst Marischka, Starring Annie Rosar, Hans Holt, Viktor de Kowa.
