Linen backing is the industry standard of conservation. Canvas is stretchered and a sheet of acid free barrier paper is laid down. The poster is then pasted to the acid free paper using an acid free paste. This process is fully reversible and gives support to the poster. A border of linen is left around the poster and can be used by a framer to mount the poster so that nothing touches the poster itself.

Caricature of Joseph Reinach (1856-1921) as a king on a throne. Reinach, a Jew, was a publicist, lawyer, and one of the most outspoken supporters of Dreyfus. He was the author of Histoire de l'affaire Dreyfus, a seven volume work published betwen 1901 and 1911.
The Musee des Horreurs consisted of 52 caricatures depicting the anti-Semitic sentiment in France during the Dreyfus Affair, published between 1899 and 1900.
