Linen backing is the industry standard of conservation. Canvas is stretchered and a sheet of acid free barrier paper is laid down. The poster is then pasted to the acid free paper using an acid free paste. This process is fully reversible and gives support to the poster. A border of linen is left around the poster and can be used by a framer to mount the poster so that nothing touches the poster itself.

An autumn view of the sandstone buildings of America's premier military academy, West Point, seen as if from the windows of a train cruising along the east bank of the Hudson River. The view is from Garrison's Landing, a place that played a crucial role in the American Revolution as the spot where Benedict Arnold, escaping from West Point to provide traitorous information to the British, landed his ferry. Hazell was a prominent landscape painter and illustrator. Zega 90.B Condition - please note multiple long horizontal tears through the body of the poster, and restoration to borders.
