  • A Sabena helicopter flys over the Grand Place, with the World's Fair Atomium in the distance. The 1958 Brussels World's Fair (Expo '58) was the first Fair held after WWII with the theme of a new chapter for Europe.

Started in the 1930s, SABENA (Societé Anonyme Belge d'Exploitation de la Navigation Aérienne - Belgian Corporation for Air Navigation Services) flew throughout Europe and Belgian colonies. It was the national airline for Belgium until 2001 when its assets were sold off and it became what is today Brussels Airlines.

Best known for his series of Pan Am posters, Aaron Fine (-1962) was a talented poster artist, book illustrator, and playwright. He was also close friends with Andy Warhol, who created the set for his play, "My Blackmailer". Fine died of cancer in 1962.
