Medin, a sculptor, photographer and artist, studied art at the Art Institute in Chicago and became the assistant art director and staff artist for the Illinois Central Railroad magazine (he is credited with having redesigned the Illinois Central's Diamond insignia). He created many posters for the Rapid Transit Lines. For this near life-size image of Auguste Rodin's bronze statue, Adam, Medin was awarded First Prize in the Students' Contest at the Art Institute of Chicago.
